For Grantseekers

The Nordblom Family Foundation celebrates the importance of all families regardless of their income level, demographics, or parental structure. Through our grantmaking we hope to inspire individuals to thrive in relationships both within their families and in their communities.

Guidelines
The Foundation will consider a wide range of approaches to family wellbeing that align with our mission. Successful programs will:

    • Build parent/caregiver awareness of being role models
    • Provide opportunities for building core capabilities, such as self-regulation and executive skills, and for reducing family stress
    • Promote strong intra-family communication and respect
    • Support families to work together to set and achieve goals
    • Utilize credible scientific knowledge and measurement as a means toward achieving success

Eligibility
The Nordblom Family Foundation uses an invitation-only grantmaking process. Applicants to the Foundation must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations working in the Foundation’s fields of interest. The Foundation does not make grants directly to individuals or to other private foundations. The Foundation will consider requests for both new and established programs where a grant is likely to have a significant impact on the applicant organization to benefit parents, families, and their communities.

Geographic Focus
While we are focused on the Greater Boston area, we will consider requests from other parts of the United States for programs that strongly align with our mission.

Grant Size and Duration
The Foundation makes one-year awards with a possibility for renewal, usually up to a period of no more than three years. Minimum grant size is typically $50,000, but the Foundation will sometimes make smaller grants to lower-budget organizations.

Application Process and Access Code
If applicants are invited to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI), they will receive a call or email from the Foundation’s staff. Details of LOI and full proposal application requirements and deadlines will be made available at the time of invitation. An invitation should not be considered a guarantee that support will be forthcoming. Applications and reports are accepted through the foundation’s online portal: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=nordblomfamilyfoundation.
